Cuitlahuac Chavez-Pena
PhD Candidate

 M.Sc in Biotechnology by the National Autonomous University of Mexico and bachelor degree in Chemistry and Pharmacy from University of Guadalajara

Several years of experience in the biopharmaceutical industry working in the development of analitycal and purification methods for recombinant proteins

Alina Venereo Sanchez
Post Doc Fellow

Graduated in 2009 from University of Havana (Cuba) where I obtained my Master of Sciences degree in Molecular Biology.

I have working experience in molecular biology of viral vectors and protein expression in mammalian cells mediated by viral vectors (adenovirus, lentivirus) for vaccine development.

"HEK-293 stable cell line development for production, scale up and characterization of influenza virus-like particles" 


David Sharon
PhD Student

Coursed my Bachelor studies at the University of British Columbia and then obtained a M.Sc in Microbiology from McGill University.

5 years lab experience, primarily focused on the molecular biology of host-virus interactions and medical genetics.

Pranakkumar Joshi
PhD Candidate

Graduated from the Institute of Chemical Technology, (Mumbai, India) where I obtained a Master of Technology degree.

Before joining the group I spend two year working for Intas Biopharmaceuticals (Ahmedabad, India) in the upstream process development team)

Internship at Evonik Industries, Germany, for six months at the department of Bioprocess Technology & Life Cycle Management (04/2015-09/2015).
Experience in insect cell culture/baculovirus expression system, metabolic engineering of Corynebacterium glutamicum, pervaporation for in-situ product removal during fermentative butanol production, large-scale bioreactor characterization.

I spent two years as a Research Specialist, in Levine’s Clinical Cell and Vaccine Production Facility at the University of Pennsylvania. Before that I had the opportunity to work as a research assistance for  
at Dr Naglaa Shoukry’s laboratory at CRCHUM.
